GlobalConnect Australia Opens Laboratory Staging Facility in Sydney
April 10, 2007, Sydney - GlobalConnect Australia, a leading convergence and contact centre solutions provider and Avaya Gold Business Partner, today opened the doors of a new laboratory staging facility in the Sydney suburb of North Ryde.
The multi-level facility, which went live this week, will enable GlobalConnect Australia to test IP-based telephony infrastructure in customised environments according to pre-defined end user service level agreements prior to product shipment out to customer sites.
"The primary objective of the laboratory staging facility is to provide a faster and smoother implementation at the customer site while at the same time reducing the amount of disruption and technical resource required by customers at the point of implementation.
"By testing the technology in our facility in a staged process, we can program the solution, license the equipment and ensure it meets contracted customer specifics ensuring a better customer experience from day one," says Pushkar Taneja, Managing Director, GlobalConnect Australia.
At the same time, the facility will enable GlobalConnect Australia to showcase its IP applications solutions technology in real communications business scenarios and test the strength of its quality control and risk management procedures, including fault restoration, 24-hour support, preventative maintenance, remote alarming and advanced port replacement.
In addition, any customer third-party applications required will be integrated with the equipment in the laboratory prior to customer shipment.
The laboratory staging facility has been built according to industry best practices and includes power and ventilation backup as well as both ISDN and PSTN test services.
"Ultimately, we will help organisations to subsequently get their voice and communications project solution right from the start by testing upfront and then simply implementing the solution at the customer site," says Taneja.
The facility is managed by Glen Elton, GlobalConnect Australia's Convergence Manager, and a team of pre- and post-sales engineers.
