GlobalConnect Appoints Ex-Avaya Veterans to Drive Growth
Dean Hodgson heads local sales team, amongst other new hires

AUSTRALIA – GlobalConnect Australia, a leading convergence and contact centre integrator, today announced the expansion of its sales team with several new hires including the key appointment of industry veteran Dean Hodgson to the role of National Sales Director.
Dean's appointment marks an aggressive plan to acquire the best industry talent to support GlobalConnect’s new go-to-market model beyond its successful relationship with Avaya into new relationships with complementary third party vendors.
Dean joins GlobalConnect from Datasquirt where he spent two years as General Manager building the Australian and Singapore operations. Formerly a 5-year Avaya veteran leading the Strategic Alliance organisation for Asia Pacific, Dean brings extensive experience in best-practice sales and customer service delivery.
Other new hires in the sales team include:
- Harsha Hewapathirane from 3D Networks, IBM and Cisco with a stint in Silicon Valley
- Paul Le Maitre ex-Touchbase and VeCommerce recruit
- Wayne McAuliffe with a background at Avaya, Citrix and IBM
The expanded sales team comes under the strategic direction of Pushkar Taneja, managing director of GlobalConnect Australia who said, "At a time when more and more local companies are embracing GlobalConnect's compelling offer around telephony, networking, wireless, videoconferencing and services, we are focused on attracting high caliber individuals to take our end-to-end offer to market to meet customer needs and drive further growth across our organisation."

Dean brings over 20 years experience to the role and holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Auckland University of Technology.
