May 19, 2008, Sydney - GlobalConnect Australia, a leading IP telephony and contact centre integrator and wholly owned subsidiary of Avaya GlobalConnect, has announced the appointment of Rob Carnell as National Sales Manager based in Sydney.

Carnell joins GlobalConnect Australia with broad experience in the telecommunications industry, most recently having served as Alcatel-Lucent’s Vice President of Enterprise Sales in Australasia for over three years. Previous to Alcatel-Lucent, Carnell was the Solutions Sales Manager at NEC and boasts a wealth of industry experience with the likes of Concerto Software and Netstar.

Carnell will be responsible for leading the GlobalConnect Australia sales team and executing on the company's penetration into enterprise and government, bringing the full suite of GlobalConnect capability to new and prospective customers.
