NQR shops around for cost savings with GlobalConnect

AUSTRALIA – Victorian Grocery Clearance retail chain, NQR, selected GlobalConnect Australia to complete a Unified Communications rollout across 17 sites resulting in a return on investment of less than a year due to a 40% reduction in telco costs - line rentals, internal calls, improved mobility and fuctionality
NQR is an Australian owned business operating for more than 20 years as a solution to manufacturers clearing excess stock, discontinued lines and cancelled supermarket orders. Due to the nature of its business - fast moving goods with a limited shelf life - issues such as sales lead time, inventory and sales figures are mission critical to NQR requiring quick and effective communication between head office and store managers. This business challenge prompted the retail chain to review its current telecommunications infrastructure.
NQR selected GlobalConnect, a leading solutions integrator, to implement an Avaya IP telephony platform with a comprehensive end-to-end applications roadmap that outperformed Cisco. The key benefits of the new communications platform include increased collaboration, improved productivity through mobility, reduced overall telco expenses by 40% and further cost savings due to the Avaya VoIP technology. NQR has future plans to enhance its customer loyalty program through a self service initiative.

As part of the applications roadmap, NQR deployed Avaya Unified Messaging to enable voicemail and Avaya one-X across the mobile handsets of staff at headoffice, warehouse managers and store managers. Avaya one-X provides extension-to-cellular functionality enabling a call to be answered anywhere, anytime increasing collaboration and productivity.
NQR has future plans to automate its customer loyalty program for its customer base. Through self-service voice portal technology from GlobalConnect, NQR customers will be able to phone a customer service number to receive immediate information such as promotions or the nearest store location via postcode.
