MD Update

What an interesting few weeks it’s been in the telecommunications industry, first the proposed break-up of Telstra which came hot on the heels of the news Avaya has been successful in its bid for Nortel Enterprise Solutions. These recent events will certainly shape the telephony landscape as we know it.

As one of Avaya’s largest and most committed channel partners in Australia, GlobalConnect is thrilled by the company’s news - the acquisition will increase Avaya’s market reach and ultimately strengthen its portfolio, products and services. We understand you may have concerns about the product portfolio and how you will be serviced going forward. The key takeaway is that business will remain as usual and GlobalConnect will be working closely with Avaya in relation to its strategy to ensure your transition is seamless.

In other exciting news, GlobalConnect celebrated its 5th birthday in the Australian marketplace this month! We are extremely proud of this milestone and thank you for the role you have played in helping us grow into a well-established solutions integrator with a large footprint in the telephony and contact centre markets. We will continue to strive for service excellence in the next 5 years and beyond – and, given our customer satisfaction levels are at 96% in the latest GlobalConnect customer survey, we are well on the way to achieving this goal. As I hinted at in the last newsletter, GlobalConnect continues to expand its go-to-market model beyond our successful relationship with Avaya. We have appointed several complimentary third party vendors to our product and services portfolio and I’m pleased to announce we are now working with Juniper Networks, Aruba Networks, Verint Systems, Telstrat and other contact centre enabling solutions. We look forward to discussing these developments with you and ultimately delivering increased value to your IT infrastructure.

Not only has our product range expanded in the past few months but also our team. We welcomed several new hires including Dean Hodgson to lead our sales team in country. Read all about Dean, his goals and interests in the profile section of this newsletter.
